From
a young age, she has been around boxing. First because her older
brother was a boxer and then when the bug effected her. Today, she
holds distinction as a national medal winner.
Chasity
Funseth fought twice at the 2008 Womens National Golden Gloves championships
earlier this month in Florida earning a prestigious silver medal
at the annual event.
The
17-year old amateur boxer from the northern Flint suburb of Otisville
defeated Louisiana’s Geni Taylor to advance to the finals
before losing a 4-1 decision to a less-experienced but older Monica
Rumler at 125-lbs.
Funseth
(6-4) fights out of the Lapeer Boxing Club and is trained by Mike
Dinnan.
