The story of youth boxer Juan Contreras, severely injured in a sanctioned amateur bout and whose story has been chronicled several times on Sportssummary.com, has apparently touched the heart of professional boxer Luigi Gjokaj.

Gjokaj, 22, who will be fighting in his fourth professional bout on June 20th on the latest offering from Heavyhitter Promotions and CLIP, said he will donate 10% of his ring earnings to the family of 12-year old Contreras, who remains in a coma three months after a tragic ring accident.

The pro show at Detroit’s historic Fort Wayne next week will have the Motown boxer facing his first southpaw in his pro career. Gjokaj (2-1-0) is scheduled against fellow Michigan boxer Jamal Kahn (0-2-0).
