Andre
Dirrell was an amateur boxer winning several prominent titles before
his abilities led him to the highlight of any amateur sportsman's
career when he competed in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece winning
the bronze medal for the United States. He turned pro in 2005, along
with his younger brother, Anthony. Like his brother. Andre is managed
and trained by his grandfather, Leon "Bumper" Lawson.
